Mi sentirete parlare spesso di : che dirvi? Già da piccola l'ho sempre frequentata perché i miei, amanti della montagna, mi ci portavano ogni .
Quindi è come se fosse una seconda casa per me a questo punto!

You will read often about D'Aosta Valley on my blog! I have always been there for holiday because my parents love to go on mountain each Summer. So it's like a second home for me!

La Valle D'Aosta è forse una delle più piccole regioni che abbiamo in Italia ed è montuosa: meta di turismo invernale per gli amanti dello sci ed estivo per gli amanti della montagna in genere.

Non fatevi ingannare dall'aspetto un po' retrò e dalla genuinità dei paesaggio: questa regione a statuto autonomo è una delle più ricche d'Italia.

I suoi abitanti non stanno mai fermi!

The Aosta Valley is perhaps one of the smallest regions in Italy and it is all mountainous. It is a winter tourist destination for the ski lovers and a summer destination for the mountain buffs. You will be surprised by its vintage aspects and by the genuineness of the landscape. Anyway this region - with an autonomous statute - is one of the richest in Italy. Its inhabitants are always dynamic.

Frequentando i vari paesi che la popolano e parlando con gli abitanti locali mi sono accorta che ognuno di loro fa due o anche tre lavori. Provate ad andare al ristorante : mangiate la tipica con un sano vinello e già scoprirete che il viticoltore è il cognato del padrone del ristorante.

When I visited the many villages in this region and I have spoken with the locals, I realized that each of them has two or even three jobs.

Let's go to the restaurant. You have to taste the typical polenta with an healthy glass of wine and you will discover that the grower wines is the brother of the owner of the restaurant.

Alzatevi, fate due passi e per digerire andate al bar del paese a bervi un caffè in grolla.
Sapete chi ve lo servirà ? Probabilmente il figlio del proprietario del ristorante.

Potrete trovare le stesse persone in orari e stagioni differenti, a fare differenti lavori nel villaggio: magari il barista alla mattina affitterà sci e il coltivatore di vini sarà l'addetto alla biglietteria per gli impianti di risalita.

E il proprietario del ristorante? Lui è il sindaco! La cosa importante che ho capito, chiacchierando con queste persone, è che non bisogna mai stare fermi e bisogna sempre reinventarsi, ma soprattutto le persone del posto devono mandare avanti l'economia locale e gli " stranieri" saranno ospiti graditi come turisti.

Stand up for a walk. You can go to the bar in the village to taste the typical coffee in the grolla. You know who is the bartender? Probably the son of the owner of the restaurant. You can find the same people- in different seasons or in different hours - to do the different jobs in the village. Maybe the bartender will rent you the skis in the morning and the grower wines will be the employed at the ticket office for the lifts. What about the owner of the restaurant? He is the mayor!

The important thing I realized -having a conversation with these people- is that they never stop to work and they must always reinvent themselves. Above all the people manage the local economy and the "foreigners" will be welcome as guests only as the tourist.

Il termine "stranieri" ha un significato particolare da quelle parti: sì perché non si sta parlando del milanese e di qualcuno che venga da altre regioni e nazioni. No no. Lo "straniero" qui è anche chi viene da un'altra valle o da un altro paese.

Come è strano vedere come le definizioni possano variare così soggettivamente!

The term "foreigners" has a very unusual meaning there. Well, you are not speaking about the tourist from Milan or someone from some other regions and nations. No, no! Here the "foreign" is who comes from another valley or from another village ( in the same region)!

So strange to see how the definitions can be subjective!

In ogni caso ogni paese è una micro comunità praticamente autonoma che parla un comune dialetto che poco si differenzia dal francese.

Se conoscete la lingua francese li capirete parlare e soprattutto, se vi capita di seguire un telegiornale regionale, in questa zona d'Italia un servizio sarà in francese.

Forse per il clima più rigido e complicato che in altre zone, forse perché il senso di appartenenza e comunità è più forte laddove le prerogative di sussistenza possono essere state complesse in passato, forse perché prima dell'avvento del turismo questi paesi rimanevano isolati per molti mesi all'anno, sta di fatto che i loro abitanti e il clima che si respira è sicuramente molto rappresentativo della regione.

I villaggi si alternano alle maestose cime, tutti molto belli e caratteristici. Ogni paese diventa così per loro un microcosmo: perché non provare anche noi a viverlo così quando siamo là?

In any case, every village is a micro-community practically independent . In all the region is spoken a common dialect that is similar to the French language. If you know the French language you will understand their dialect. If you follow their regional television news , you will watch some pieces in French.

Perhaps because these villages were isolated for many months in the year before the advent of the tourism. The fact is that their inhabitants and the climate that reigns here

is certainly very representative of the region.

The villages alternate with the magnificent peaks, all is very beautiful and characteristic. Each village becomes a microcosm. Why do not we try to live them as they are?
