This week M83 released the epic finale to their ongoing mutant space child trilogy collaboration with Fleur & Manu. White wolves, manta rays, and an albino vulture accompany the children in the most nonsensical yet beautiful video of the series. “Wait” is shimmering, atmospheric, and seemlessly in touch with the band’s 2011 release Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. Who cares if it doesn’t make sense?! More musicians are using their videos as companion pieces to a LP rather than just promotional content and that’s exciting (see Edward Sharpe’s Salvo! and Kanye West’s Runaway). If the world does end in 14 days, I hope it will look (and feel) a little like “Wait.”
