In Veil #3 we get a huge turn of events. Some of the witchcraft and wickedness comes out and it has me wanting more.
Read my Veil # 2 review here.
The chapter starts off with Cormac doing some witchcraft stuff while a couple of guys are outside performing surveillance. It moves to an office where there is some discussion around “taking care of” Cormac and finding Veil alive. Half way through the book is when the rats return. We start to see a glimpse of why they are mentioned to be so important in the story. One rat that is red in color purposely bites Veil. She gets the red in her eyes while the rat turns back to normal. She goes into some hypnotic state and makes here way to Cormac’s place. As the two surveillance men spot her entering the home of Cormac, this is the time to do their job. What’s that line that Admiral Ackbar from Star Wars is famous for? We see what could be the true colors of who Veil really is.
This series gets more and more interesting as it goes on. I like the touch of horror on the story but without it being just an all out thriller. I can’t wait to see what or who Veil really is and what she is capable of doing. Why is she there? How did she become who she is? All these questions keep me reading and turning pages. A definite page turner a fun read. Can’t wait to see what is “behind the Veil”.
