Unforgettable Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes is Replaced in TLC’s “Waterfalls” Remix

TLCTLC, the popular band from the ’90s, has been on hiatus for such a long time that many kids these days don’t even know who they are. One third of the group, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, passed away in 2002 in a car accident in Honduras, and the group has never been the same since.

During a recent performance in Japan, the two remaining band members (Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas) performed a remix of their hit single “Waterfalls,” replacing Lopes’s rap section with new vocals by Japanese pop star Namie Amuro. Lopes’s family was present for the performance and was caught off guard at the unexpected change to the song. They were understandably upset at the changes but stated that they didn’t mind as long as the song stayed in Japan.
