A few months ago (Summer), Under Armour (UA) opened its first door in the Philippines at Bonifacio Global City -- UA's first-ever SouthEast Asia brand store. Its success paved the way for the distributorship of Triple Pte. Ltd. and under the retailer Grupo Athletica to open another door, this time at the Upper Ground Level, Bldg. A of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
The store in Megamall embodies a retail experience that evokes the high energy and signature gritty ethos of the Under Armour brand. Aesthetically, the new retail destination brings to life the Under Armour brand personality. The environment includes an accent metal and wood furnishings and the Under Armour Thrones -- large black leather seats with the logo stitched in red prominently installed within the footwear zone.
"The Under Armour Megamall store is the result of a well-planned expansion strategy, it’s in a high-traffic centrally located area making the brand even more accessible," said Adrian Chai, Chief Marketing Officer, Triple Pte. Ltd.
Endorsed by renowned athletes such as former Ateneo volleyball star Gretchen Ho and football ace, captain of the Women national team Natasha Alquiros, Under Armour Megamall offers to its fans the whole Fall-Winter range and the same technologies that are now pushing those athletes to the max.
The opening of UA Megamall store was not only filled to capacity by the onlooking crowds but was star-studded as well with the presence of the Fil-Am MMA star Brandon Michael Vera, Robi Domingo, and Gretchen Ho. Other Celebrities and Models also gathered not just to check-out the opening but as well as to compete against each other for the Under Armour Celebrity Challenge. The hunks - Luke Jicain, Paulo Paraiso, Gerard Pizarras, Eric "Eruption" Tai, John Hall, Will Devaughn, JC Tiuseco, Anton Del Rosario, Carlos Agassi, and Ervic Vijande. For the females who showed their strength and capabilities much as the guys did were LJ Reyes, Bubbles Paraiso (my crush of the day), Roxanne Barcelo, Issa Litton, and Maria Persson.
Under Armour's opening in Megamall proves that the US-based performance footwear and apparel brand continues its momentum in the market. From the positive and tremendous response to the brand of the Philippine athletes, Under Armour looks forward to increase their presence throughout the Country. "Opening in Megamall is a natural step for the brand’s expansion in the Philippines," said Carlos Maza, Senior Director, New Markets, Under Armour.
