Now back to regular programming…

Well regular-random programming that is. My posts tend to hit an array of topics depending on what is going on in my life, so if you can keep up with my random musings, you are in good shape!

Speaking of good shape…. (physical shape now) I have been doing a lot of running lately. Meaning, I haven’t had many strength workouts posted. Another factor that is affecting my lack of workout posts is I no longer have a gym membership. Luckily, I was blessed with a husband who was a strength and conditioning enthusiast, and practically made an at home gym. I just need to get a little more creative! He built an Olympic lifting platform and invested in a TRX. The TRX came with workouts so I have been sticking to that lately.

For those of you that are wondering, TRX Suspension Training is basically ropes that use gravity to engage your body weight in hundreds of exercises for a full body workout. I think it is genius especially if you need an at home or traveling workout option.

Anyways, I love the TRX, but I miss the feeling of strength that is released when I bust out some heavy squats. It’s a lifting high that I want to say is similar to a runners high. Weather it be squatting, pressing, clinging, jumping or pulling, something about adding just a little bit more weight makes me feel like I tackled Mt. Everest.

It has been two weeks without a gym membership and I finally got motivated to come up with my own at home work out.

In addition to today’s 3.5 mile run, I made up an Ultimate Burpee Pyramid that is very at-home friendly and can be easily modified with or without weights.
