It rained the other day and the big tree down the street shed a lot of brownish red leaves. As I walked past, I wished for a minute I’d had my camera or phone on me to capture the moment. Upon reflection, I realize that my life has been a hurry for a long while now. I miss the days I’d take a while to walk down Bode Thomas Street listening to music, just for the sake of relaxation. Fall reminds me to slow down and reflect. Day 3 UBC, which I began here, invites us to share what we do in the Fall/Harmattan that is unique to the season. Well, when ‘mber’ months begin with September, first I begin to smell Christmas in the Harmattan air (do you?). And with that comes the desire to listen to Christmas-y music. Though, I avoid Christmas-y films (they make me cry).Food wise I start to think more about Zobo drink, Fried rice recipes and small chops like chin chin.Fashion wise I begin to wear a lot more jewel tones like deep shades of red, purple, maroon, blue and green. And I begin to post a recap of the months gone past. To make it brief I begin to wrap things up in various areas of my life.Gift and Gifting wise I begin to make a list of the younger people in my life, who cannot afford to buy themselves much yet, and try to decide what to gift them. Also, I begin to think of what to gift myself for my birthday, since I’m an ‘mber’ month baby.Home Wise I begin to clean out clutter and hidden dust piles and I begin to choose Christmas decor.Motivation wise I begin to think about what I’d like to end at the close of the year and what I wouldn’t mind carrying over into the following year.
