U2-Songs-Of-Innocence1-608x608Last week U2 was able to shock the whole music world when they released their new album called “Songs Of Innocence”.  Not only is this a new album but this could change the music industry.  If you have been living under a rock you are probably asking why I say that.  Last week when they released the new album they came on stage at the Apple Keynote and told everyone that if you had an iTunes account you will be getting this whole album for free!  That’s right free!  And no one knew that the ablum would be released then.  There was talks that the album was going to have to be pushed back.

Remember that old saying that nothing in life is free??  Well that is true in this case…just Apple is the ones that have to pay.  It has been reported that they paid U2 a total of 100 million to be able to give the album to everyone.  Now there are people who are mad they got this album…well you know what I have to say to them. DELETE IT AND MOVE ON!!!  I am saying this becuase this really has been a decent listen.  The last album they released back in 2009 “No Line On the Horizon”. I felt wasn’t as good as their older stuff.  This album however is just as good as the older stuff more from the “Vertigo” era.  I think that is a very good thing for them.  It will help get back the fans from the older music they did and being a bunch on new fans that have never heard of them.  I do have to say if you’ve never heard of U2…you may need a music lesson.

Songs of Innocence” start’s off with a song called “The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)”.  It starts off with the vocals of the amazing man named Bano and then the guitars kick in.  This song is also their single off the album and I can see why.  The guitars are very catchy along with the lyrics.  By the time the chorus comes around for a second time you catch your self singing along.  What I love most about this is song is the way they have the guitars throughout the song.  So it’s not just the voals taking stage it’s everyone in the band.

The next song I’m going to mention that everyone take a listen to is the song called “California (There Is No End To Love)”.  Now what got me hooked on the song is in the background and start of the song you can hear them singing a classic Beach Boy lyric.  I found that very interesting.  I also love how the instruments are layed out in this song.  This song is for sure going to be on my playlist when I am out in California driving down the highway!  This really is a song that everyone needs to listen to and if you don’t keep all of the songs from this album keep this one.

All in all I really do have to give “Songs of Innocence” 5/5 stars.  U2 is back and bigger then ever.  Even if you are not a fan of this classic band you should be thankful for them because without them we wouldn’t have some of the music or bands we have now.  So head over to your iTunes account and take a listen of this amazing free music you have been given.
