Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!
For this week's Twinsie Tuesday post, we are to share our nail care routine. So I'll be sharing my go to products today.
Cuticle Care
I don't use cuticle remover very often, but when I do, I use Sally Hansen's Gel Cuticle Remover. It does a really good job. The gel needs to be applied to the cuticle and then a cuticle pusher can be used to remove and push the cuticles back.
I use a metal Revlon cuticle pusher which I got at Target. It works really well. It's important that you remove the gel within 8-10 minutes because your cuticles become very sensitive if it's left on too long (trust me, I know). You should also wash your hands with warm water and soap.
Whenever I use the cuticle remover, I use cuticle oil right away to moisturize them. I use Sally Hansen cuticle oil with Vitamin E.
Filing
For filing, I use a regular nail file. The one I have right now is by Soft Touch. I'm not sure where I got it (maybe Sally's), but it works really well. I sometimes clip my nails if I feel they are too long, but I haven't done that much lately because sometimes I end up going too short. I also keep the nail clip around for hang nails, but not for my cuticles.
Moisturizing
I ALWAYS have cuticle balm on hand in my purse. Right now, I'm using Burt's Bees. Massaging and moisturizing the cuticles is especially important for me in the winter, as they tend to become really dry. I use cuticle balm every day.
I also use lotion and hand cream often to keep my hands moisturized.
Base Coat
My go to base coat is Rejuvacote. It prevents staining and keeps my nails really strong.
Top Coat
My favorite top coat is Seche Vite. Yes, it drives me crazy sometimes because it shrinks my polish, but it dries so quickly and to a gorgeous shine. I just love it.
Vitamins
In addition to my daily multi-vitamins, I also take Biotin as a supplement. Since taking it regularly, I noticed that my nails grow a lot faster and are very healthy.
So there you have it, my go to products for nail care. What are some of the things you do for nail care? Let me know in the comments.
