Twinsie Tuesday - Marching Orders

By Marijonails @marijonails
Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!
This week's twinsie challenge entails us getting "marching orders" from another twinsie.  The marching orders could be anything, nail art, based on a theme, anything.  It's even more fun because none of the other twinsies know what we each person will be doing.
I was given my marching orders by Amanda.  Here's what they were:
Your mani must  include the following polishes:

1. A mainstream brand (OPI, Essie, ChG, etc.)2. A local brand (Mattese Elite, Brucci, Duri, etc.)3. An indie
To create a mani that's inspired by your favorite movie/television awards ceremony dress (Oscars, Golden Globes, Emmys, etc.)
My first reaction: Whoa!!!  Amanda really took advantage with this one, lol.
After understanding all of my orders, I first decided on a dress.

I absolutely loved Jessica Alba in this dress at the Golden Globes this year.  The color is absolutely perfect on her and though it was simple, it was elegant and absolutely beautiful!!  When ever I dress up, I love a simple, but elegant look.
The three polishes I chose were Brucci Sophie's Sweet Pink (local), White Owl Lacquers Pumpkin Pasties (indie), and OPI Pirouette My Whistle (mainstream).

Sophie's Sweet Pink was one of the closest colors I had to the dress.  It's a gorgeous pink with golden shimmer that gives it a salmon color.  I decided to put it on four of my nails, then on my pinky I added Pumpkin Pasties as my accent.  I chose Pumpkin Pasties because it's in the color family and has brown glitters in it, which reminds me of the bag Jessica is holding.  I know it's a stretch, but that was my thought process, lol.

On my thumb, I did a gradient with Pirouette My Whistle to represent her necklace that was full of bling.  Isn't it gorgeous?!!!  I would be scared to walk around with that thing on my neck!

I really liked this mani a lot!  It's not something I would have done if it weren't for this challenge, but it's a really fun look.
Here are a few pics of Sophie's Sweet Pink on it's own with no top coat.

Isn't it pretty?!!  It has a great formula too.  It applied really easily and was opaque in two coats.  I got it for $3.99 at Rite Aid.
I'm definitely looking forward to what everyone was challenged to do this week.  I'm sure it will be fun!
