Twins for Cheltenham IVF Couple After Seven Year Wait | IVF Success Story

By Momatlast @momatlast

Sometimes babies can be like buses – you wait ages then two come along at once.

That was certainly the case for proud parents Chris and Marie-Paule Rowe when adorable Milo and Mya were born last year.

IVF Success Story

Marie-Paule, who is known as MP, and her husband Chris desperately wanted to have children. They watched their friends start the families they so desperately wanted for themselves, but for years their own attempts for children failed to result in a little bundle of joy of their own.

Their one-year-old twins were the result of IVF treatment and the news of MP’s pregnancy brought to an end a seven-year wait for children.

“It was our third attempt at IVF and it was a very long wait,” said Chris, a consultant.

“We kind of wanted twins because MP was a twin too so it was lovely when it finally happened and it turned out we had two children.”

After trying to conceive naturally, the couple spent three years getting treatment from doctors in London, only to be diagnosed with “unexplained infertility”.

They instead turned to the private sector and spent more than £15,000 to achieve their dreams of parenthood.

They were on what they had agreed would be their final cycle of IVF treatment when they heard the pregnancy was finally a success. “We said it would be our last go and, if it didn’t work, we’d adopt instead,” said Chris.

“It was absolutely worth every penny we spent and we’re so proud of both of them.”

The couple moved to Cheltenham from Wimbledon, in London, six months ago to be closer to MP’s mother, who lives in the county.

MP, who is now a full-time mum, added: “It was our last try and I’m so glad it worked.”

They were among dozens of parents attending Cheltenham Twins Group’s annual summer party on Saturday.

The club supports families of twins through their early years and gives free advice at what can be a stressful time for parents.
