Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter closed last night.
Just ten days ago, Fox Opinion Host, Tucker Carlson claimed that the left did everything in their power to prevent Musk from buying Twitter… and that they failed!
Nice narrative there. But it’s not hard to follow the story to see that the only entity that was trying to prevent Musk from buying Twitter was… Elon Musk!
He tried to renegotiate the price he agreed to pay. He was sued by Twitter to close the deal. The Judge gave him until today’s date to close the deal, or he would face a trial.
On October 4, 2022, Musk indicated he would buy Twitter for the originally agreed upon price of $54.20 per share, which he initially agreed to in April 2022.
So from April through October 4, 2022, we watched Musk look for ways to lower the price or get out of the deal. Once he agreed to honor his original agreed price, the deal closed in 23 days!
What did the left do in 23 days to prevent the transaction? Write some anti-musk tweets?
This is the problem with Tucker’s black-and-white thinking. Some people on Twitter criticized the acquisition… therefore that means the entire left is trying to block the deal!
So as the only person actually doing anything with teeth to apparently try to prevent the sale of Twitter to Musk, this raises an interesting question: “Is Elon Musk a member of ‘the Left’ who was trying to block his own offer to buy Twitter?”
If so, maybe the right might want to reconsider their recent love for Musk.
