true-blood-eric-pam-season-7-i-found-you-hboIn the Season 6 finale of HBO’s True Blood, every Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) fan screamed out as one when the viking vampire burst into flames. However, it seems that was just the tip of the iceberg in regards to the troubles he is finding himself in. His progeny, Pam, has been searching high and low for her maker – only to discover he is now suffering from a terminal case of Hep-V.

The actress who portrays Pam, Kristin Bauer van Straten, has had plenty to say about the relationship and complications arising between Pam and Eric in True Blood Season 7. While it seemed that Eric was a lost cause at the start of Episode 3 (entitled Fire in the Hole), Pam bought his fighting spirit back to the fore by the end with the announcement that the threat of Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) was still very real:

It’s quite a triumph for [Pam] to delay his dying. She has to actually think fairly quickly on her feet, and through her panic and through her grief, to try to come up with a way to motivate him.

With Eric dying from Hep-V, however, will they be able to track down Sarah Newlin in time? Without giving any storylines away, for Kristin Bauer, it seems it will be a struggle for the pair of them – emotionally as well as physically:

I feel like she is kicking and screaming. It’s impossible for her to think of losing him. Pam just is in denial and fighting for every moment with him and feeling closer to him. Some of us have been through losing someone, especially with cancer, where you know the person is dying, which I’ve been through, and there’s a real relinquishing and a sweetness and a closeness that happens actually more and more knowing that that person’s time is limited. My dad died of cancer and my best friend of AIDS. I’ve been through it a couple of times, and I also knew — not that this is as big a thing — but I knew that my time with Alex Skarsgard was limited. We were really enjoying all the time we had together, and I could borrow from that — how much we treasured every scene more than we did in the past, because we knew it was a finite quantity.

Is that a hint that Eric does actually die of Hep-V? Or is she merely taking about the demise of the show and the time they have left together as actors? Only time will tell! You can read the full interview by clicking here.
