Who ever would have thought a contract that glows in the dark would be bad? Enter Warlow and man is he cranky!
Jason (Ryan Kwanten), meanwhile, is shooting at Rutger Hauer – who turns out NOT to be Warlow, but is in fact Jason’s fairy grandfather, Niall.
Tara (Rutina Wesley) is in pain – but not dead (yet – she could still be that death Buckner was talking about though). It turns out she was hit by a specially developed weapon – a silver bullet that emits UV light. That can’t be good. Lucky Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) is there to scoop it out with a broken bottle. She begins to feel better as soon as it is removed.
Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) is woken during the day by a tripped out Billith (Stephen Moyer) who is high on the visions (hallucinations?) of Lilith (Jessica Clark). The only thing that freaks out Jessica more is when Bill becomes catatonic! Little does she know that Billith is actually visiting with Lilith in some other nowhere place. Lilith has plenty to discuss with Billith, BUT……then the phone rings and we find Sookie (Anna Paquin) is late for work! Of course, this becomes more complicated when she finds an injured halfling fairy boy in the woods claiming (telepathically) that he was attacked by a vampire.
Enter Ben (Robert Kazinsky). And boy don’t the sparks fly there – both metaphorically AND fairy-like.
It looks like Sookie is NEVER going to get to work at this rate!
Merlotte’s could really use Sookie’s help too since they are run off their feet with patrons. Firstly, Terry (Todd Lowe) freaks out when Patrick’s (Scott Foley) wife turns up thinking Patrick has run off with another woman. Terry can’t lie – it’s lucky Arlene (Carrie Preston) can though!
Next we find Nicole Wright (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) making her grand entrance. It seems she is pro-vampire and knows all about the other supernatural beings – Sam (Sam Trammell) included. She tries to persuade Sam to jump on her ‘Out the Supes’ campaign, but I’m not so sure she is persuasive enough.
Then we are back to Billith’s Lilith-trip. It turns out that Billith is not god and neither is Lilith. Only god is god, yet people may end up worshipping Bill as a god in years to come. Oh dear, try saying that three times quickly!
Speaking of Billith, his eating habits have become atrocious since he became Billith. If you thought the sex scene between Bill and Lorena (Mariana Klaveno) was bendy enough, then you just might want to close your eyes for this one. I’d vomit (it was THAT gross) but that would remind me MORE of the scene…*shudders*To lighten the mood and get us off the awful vision of Bill’s new blood-drinking regime, we find Sookie confiding in Ben about how sick she is of being different. Then one thing leads to another and Sookie is showing Ben the way to the fairy field.
I wonder if they’ll meet up with Andy (Chris Bauer) there? He is also at the fairy field, having a terrible two’s meltdown and begging Maurella (Kristina Anapau) to return and help raise their fairy-kids.
They don’t get very far though as Ben inadvertently reads Bill’s name straight out of Sookie’s head. She gets all pouty about this and leaves Ben to his own devices. I wonder if Ben really is as good as he seems? I hope, for Sookie’s sake, that he is!
Jason and Niall are at Sookie’s house, checking out the portal between the worlds that Warlow used to show himself to Sookie. Niall jumps in, Jason tries and fails, then Niall returns all filled with talk of doom and gloom.
Sookie returns home then and Jason introduces the pair to each other. It seems Niall and Sookie are fairy royalty – but it skipped a generation with Jason. Aw, poor thing! So Niall announces that Warlow is already within their world and sets about showing Sookie how she can make her fairy light ball into a supernova version that will take down any vampires in the vicinity. It comes at a cost though – Sookie can only use it once and then she is fae no more. When will Sookie be made to use it and lose it, I wonder?
Next, enter Eric in a BAD undercover costume! It appears the only person on hand at the time was a guy from the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. That’s okay though, as it gets Eric in the door. Governor Burrell (Arliss Howard) and Eric then have a very interesting conversation about birds – if you read between the lines, it’s a very thinly veiled attempt by Eric to let the Governor know what will happen if the humans try to defeat the vampires. The Eric glamors Governor Burrell – which is when the do-do really hits the fan! It seems, along with the UV light emitting bullet, the Governor has also designed contact lenses that repel vampire glamoring. Eric is arrested and taken away to some place called ‘The Camp’. It seems that while the Governor isn’t scared of vampires, his security staff certainly are and Eric manages to fly right out of their clutches!
Lucky for Eric, not so lucky for Governor Burrell’s daughter though as Eric returns and lies in wait until Willa Burrell (Amelia Rose Blaire) removes her vampire-repelling contact lenses and glamors her into letting him in. Oh dear, Governor Burrell, you are in trouble now!
We end True Blood’s Season 6, Episode 2, The Sun, with Jessica praying – to the god of Billith!
She asks him to help save all the people she loves – including Hoyt (Jim Parrack) and Bill. (And I must say, Deborah Ann Woll’s performance in this scene is just outstanding.) So the whole time Billith is still out of it and Lilith is telling him to trust his visions and that he can save the vampires.
Billith then wakes up and we discover the visions he had earlier are now in fact eventuating! This is scary enough – until Billith has a vision of all the vampires we love so much trapped in a room. The roof then opens and sunlight streams in – burning them all!
Can Bill really save vampire-kind?
I sure hope so!
