True Blood’s Kristin Bauer Van Straten Reviews Pam’s Experiences from Season Five

From the very early episodes of True Blood, Kristin Bauer van Straten‘s sassy, pink-clad portrayal of vampire Pam has entertained all True Blood fans alike with her signature style and killer quips.

However, after diving into Pam’s past and revealing her origin with Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), fans got to see a whole different side of her character.

Bauer van Straten’s excitement was right alongside with the fans as she learned about the material for Season five:

“It was such a good Pam year. I waited so long for that backstory — just to know what it was and see what it looked like and once it arrived on paper, I thought it was just so perfect… Everything about it explained Pam to me in a new way and that was my favorite part.”

Not only was her past revealed, but a paramount part affecting her future also occurred: the turning of Tara (Rutina Wesley). Bauer van Straten recognizes the similarities between the two after she found out the storyline. And while there were moments when van Straten was disgruntled with Pam and her treatment of Tara, by the end of the season, it was apparent that Pam was reacting to the fact that her maker was missing. This then paved the way for Pam being open with her affections towards Tara, her only progeny.

And after all the tension we fans saw came the moment of truth: the kiss!

Baur van Straten recalled talking to Rutina Wesley when she saw the kiss in the script. Both actors knew that it was important to get this moment right and there was much debate over how this kiss would occur. Kristin also hints at the fact that there will be more to this storyline in Season 6 with the comment:

“In season six, we do get another piece of the puzzle, and we’re very excited to share that with fans.”

So what will happen between Pam and Tara in Season six? Bauer van Straten teases:

“In typical True Blood fashion, just when you think the sh*t has hit the fan as much as it could, some more sh*t hits the fan. The characters are developing their relationships under fire, and that’s great fun for us actor and it keeps the pace up on all the situations. Everything from last year continues but there is some added heat this year.”

The actress is excited to discuss the upcoming season and how fans will react. Each scene conjures up nerves as well as excitement when she remembers back over what is already filmed for Season 6, and it is because of this that she can only effectively judge scenes in which she does not appear. She will also be eager to see how all the filming comes together when she views the final cut.

We cetainly can’t wait to see what season six will bring Pam!
