Hoyt and Jessica’s relationship was doomed originally, but many fans hoped that with Hoyt returning in Season 7 after the death of his mother, Maxine (Dale Raoul), things would be different this time around. After all, Hoyt and Jessica have both changed over their time apart. Hoyt has manned up and learned how to stand on his own two feet and Jessica has explored the darker side of being a vampire. It seemed time for the pair of them to settle back down together.
However, actor Jim Parrack has ruffled the feathers a little by making the following statement to The Hollywood Reporter just recently:
I don’t think they’re meant for each other. In the beginning, what maybe Hoyt had to offer Jessica was acceptance, to look at her when she felt freakish and say, ‘you’re beautiful.’ That would help, and then beyond that, there’s no indication that these two are wired to do well together.
Oh. No.
While Jim does go on to say the thought the relationship had ‘potential’ and there was the possibility of a ‘hopeful ending’, it has left fans wondering if maybe Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) and James (Nathan Parsons) were the only characters getting a ‘happily ever after’ once True Blood concludes next week.
What do you think? Will Jessica and Hoyt live happily ever after? Or will Hoyt break her heart, leaving the door open for Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) to enter once more? Let us know your thoughts by commenting below!
