She also decides to ban all vampires from her house. For his part, Bill tries desperately to convince her that everything he did was to protect her but a new revelation from Eric about the first time she and Bill met throws yet another wrench into the relationship. This show currently takes place in July 2008, Obama was still a Senator in Illinois.Best Quote:

Lafayette: You're a witch. You're a witch who's a nurse who's a dude. Oh, well, shit, I guess I lucked out, then, huh?
Pam's BestDid you kill him? Please tell me you killed him. ‘Cause I will never get all the cement out of my hair.

The Review: "Evil Is Going On" did more as a season 4 kind of pilot than as a season 3 finale. Things that should have found a resolution were more like the beginning of something else. We're already used with True Blood giving us cliffhangers at the end of each season, but this time we didn't have a conclusion, like with Rene or Maryann. Nevertheless, I liked it as a finale, though it had its weak spots.

Last episode left us with Sookie unconscious and Eric and Russell frying in the sun. After Bill brought her back by giving her his blood, she took matters into her own hands and refused to let Eric - who is now haunted by visions of Godric telling him he must forgive Russell because everyone deserves peace (more Godric, please!) - die, so despite Bill's opposition, she brings him back inside and feeds him her blood. Eric then asks her to save Russell as well, because of what Godric had told him. I loved that she didn't let Eric die. Also, the way she stood up to Russell was commendable. However, her evil laugh while destroying Talbot's remains make me think she's a much worse psychopath than even Franklin, because she hides it so well most of the time. Alcide being back in this episode gave me mixed feelings: he wasn't there for enough time, but while he was there he managed to give us another soap-opera speech about having dreams with Sookie in them; but he also gave us a good fun moment, when giving Bill the "I'm better than you" look and making Eric ask "If you two are done eye-fucking each other, can we go?"
The solution to the Russell problem was solved by burying him in concrete. What did you think of that? While I'm excited at the possibility of having Denis O'Hare back in the future, I feel like we've been robbed of a real conclusion to this season. Determined to end the life of everyone who knows what Sookie is (protecting her or wanting to keep her to himself?), Bill tried to do the same to Eric and to murder Pam, none of which were successful (but how cute was Alex with concrete all over him, right?). He then gave Sookie another boring speech on how he only lied to protect her and how he will never love anyone like he loved her (yawn...). The best thing about this episode: Eric told Sookie everything else Bill has conveniently left out: that he was sent by the Queen to procure her because of what she could be, and that he had let the Rattrays beat her within an inch of her life so that he could feed her his blood right after they met. With this, all the trust Sookie still might have had for Bill went away and she banned him from her house and from her life. Let's hope this time it lasts. Other stuff I liked: Sookie seems to have forgotten all about her famous "fudge" and gone straight to swearing like a truck driver ("Go back to hell where you came from, you fucking dead piece of shit."); Eric's final words for her were better than anything Bill said during his eternal love speeches ("I'm sorry to see you suffer like this, but I thought you had the right to know."); and they were said in his cool collected tone, not in the whiny one Bill uses all the time. Way to go Eric, you have my undying admiration.
Jason+Crystal= craziness. In the name of love, he tipped her father about the DEA's raid and Felton escaped with the V and with Crystal, right after shooting Calvin right in the head. But before leaving, Crystal left Jason in charge of the people in Hotshot, which makes him exactly the kind of person he avoided his whole life to be: a responsible one. Where can this lead? I'd say disaster.
After the V trip he went on with Jesus, Lafayette started seeing things that are not there - like blood on Sam's hands and Rene Lenier following Arlene around. Does this mean he's schizophrenic, like his mother? Jesus has the answer to that: he opened up something inside him that was hidden before. With Jesus' confession that he is a witch, will the two of them have a more prominent role in season 4, which is supposed to be the season of witches?
Hoyt surprised Jessica by renting their own house and asking her to marry him. I'm glad they are moving on and I can't wait to see how their life together will be. But what was with the creepy looking doll laying on the floor of their new house?
After finding out Sam was a shape-shifter and freaking out about it, Tara cut her hair and left town. Does this mean we won't be seeing much of her next season? I honestly hope so, as she's become really annoying.
Sam made peace with Terry (and made him cry of happiness) and tried to do the same with Tommy, only to find out he had left town with the cash from his safe. So he did what every sane person would do: went after Tommy with a gun and, apparently  shot him.
The episode ended with Sookie crying over her grandmother's grave and complaining she is all alone, and Claudine coming to tell her that, in fact, she is not, after which they touched hands and disappeared.
The things season 4 needs to sort out: Where did Sookie go? Where did Tara go and will she be back? Is Bill strong enough to kill the Queen or will True Blood do us all a favor and kill Bill off (no pun intended)? Will Jason be arrested for obstruction of justice? Did Sam really shoot Tommy? What's up with the doll and with Arlene's baby?
