So here goes with my first product review......
I can honestly say I had never heard of Murad® as a brand or their Essential- C Cleaser(*) until last month, when I picked up September's issue of Marie Claire and there was a free 45ml bottle attached.
So for the past seven days I have integrated the Murad: Essential-C Cleanser into my daily routine and every morning have washed my face with this product in place of my usual facial wash.
Murad's Essential - C Cleanser(*)
What The Product Claims To Do...
"For a dual action lotion that not only cleanses the skin but also keeps it calm and soothed. Murad environmental Shield Essential C Cleanser is the ideal beauty pick me up. Formulated using a rich concoction of antioxidants, the revitalising and refreshing cleanser protects skin from damage caused by external factors whilst also injecting a complete does of moisture and nourishment. The formula not only has preventative powers, but will also help repair skin and delivers a neutralising effect that will leave it looking revived and fresh with a radiant glow of vitality."
So Does It Do What It Says On The Tin??
The Murad Essential-C Cleanser is a fresh smelling clear gel-based formula bursting with tiny orange microbeads, that left my skin feeling smooth, radiant and refreshed after use. Over the past week, I have noticed a significant improvement in the way my skin feels; cleaner, more hydrated and more toned than usual. My t-zone has felt less oily and there has been no post-use tightness, which I have experienced with other brands in the past. The aroma is a delightful mix of orange, mandarin, grapefruit and basil that stimulate the senses and reminds me the kind of smells you find in a posh spa.
When added to a little water, the gel transforms into a decent foamy lather, that makes you feel like you have had a proper wash. There is nothing worse than those products that never foam up and leave you feeling like your still grubby.
I have read a review about this cleanser that claimed that when using this product that it removed water-proof make-up, however in my experience this was not the case, if anything I was left resembling a panda!! But it did make for removing said make-up with eye make-up remover easier than normal.
Where Can I Get It From??
The Murad: Essential -C Cleanser is available from a number of online stockists; with prices varying from 27.90 to £34.00 for a 200ml bottle.
Salonskincare.co.uk = £28.99
Murad.co.uk = £34.00Can't spare £35.00 for the 200ml bottle?? It is possible to purchase a 45ml bottle for £10.00 from Murad.co.uk. (Unfortunately as I wrote this post, the Murad website was showing that due to popular demand they were currently out of stock).
Overall Rating:
5 stars
Very effective. Whilst not one of the cheapest of products available it is certainly a good one, as a little goes a long way. Is it worth the £34.00 price tag? Erm, if I had the spare money to splash out on an expensive cleanser then I would say definitely; it would be a worthy addition to my monthly beauty product essentials. However for those on a budget, I think the price tag would be a bit of a stretch - unless the improvement in your skin meant that you could drop one of your other cosmetics and thus freeing up some extra cash.Ingredients:
