Triby: A Smart Fridge Magnet

Posted on the 05 January 2015 by Anna Peterson

Fridge magnets are a great way to decorate your otherwise boring fridge. They give it something special, remind you of your favorite cities and trips, and make your kitchen more colorful. :) Well, a new smart fridge magnet by Invoxia (a French tech company) can do a lot more than that.

Meet Triby

Triby Smart Fridge Magnet

Triby is a fridge magnet that comes with a 2.9” e-ink display and a built-in speaker. It allows you to send handwritten, as well as typed messages to various devices through a corresponding app, and it can also function as a speaker, so you can listen to your favorite songs while in the kitchen, via Bluetooth. If needed, you can use iOS and Android apps to make calls to Triby.

Triby doesn’t use LED lights to inform you of upcoming notifications, but rather a physical plastic notification – it pops out from the side of the fridge magnet. Other features include a dedicated private line, and the ability to stream both FM and Internet radio. You charge the magnet through a mini USB cable, and according to its creators, Triby can last a month on just a single charge.

Triby will launch at CES (TechWest section), and will become available this summer, both in the US and Europe, at the price of $199.
