Today's post is special in two ways- first it is the eve of Indian Independence and on this celebratory occasion, I am all dressed to embrace the colors of Indian flag, without looking like one of course and second I get to introduce you to a fabulous fellow blogger Tanvi from Tanvii.com. I had the opportunity to meet Tanvi at a local fashion event and I have to admit that we just clicked right away. Again for two reasons- first she is an Indian blogger whose taste in style resonates with that of mine and second we happen to be same-aged neighbors.....lol ! Do stop by her blog Tanvii.com to self-witness her admirable style.
Now coming back to our outfits which were put together with due patriotic intentions of memorializing the colors in the Indian flag- orange, white and green. What if we are not in India, we are still Indian at heart.....will always be and wearing these colors today is our way of saying " we are proud to be Indians." Tanvi's green and white midi-dress with the orange necklace is spot-on with today's theme whereas my green top, white skirt, orange-white sandals and the orange lips exhibit a more subtle way of infusing these colors. I now realize I could have done more with my outfit. Since I was attending a wedding in Connecticut past weekend, where I took these pics, whatever you see on me were the only pieces I could pack in my tiny suitcase in addition to the heavier wedding stuff. I was kind of stranded with this limited-suitcase-wardrobe. There was nothing more to add to this look. Whatsoever I love it and hope you do too..... ;) !
Irrespective, this one goes to India, Indian People and Indian Independence.....मेरा भारत महान .....जय हिन्द !
