TREND TROTTING THURSDAY - Faux Fur

Faux fur is one trend which when done right can transform any simple look from fab to fabulous. It can add luxe to any simple outfit and above all, since it is cruelty-free, one could wear it without any guilt and also without any PETA scare ........lol !  However, there are certain do's and don'ts associated with incorporating this trend in your fall/winter fashion.  DO'S 

• If a bold statement piece like a faux-fur jacket or vest is not your thing, try fur accents. Faux-fur scarves, fur lined shoes and even jewelry is a good way to tap into this trend.
• Since faux fur adds weight, choose  pieces that are shapely and are in proportion to your body size. Belting a jacket helps in keeping your shape. 
• Have fun with this trend. If you are those daring kinds, do try printed fur. A leopard print faux fur jacket can be a great investment piece.

DON'TS 

• Don't skimp on the quality. Faux fur can look trashy and cheap if the quality is compromised.
• Do not go overboard, as in keep the focal point on one piece. Too much of this trend could end up looking outlandish. 

Now to simplify the styling aspect, Emily of Life of Emily and I have partnered together to bring to your feed two looks featuring our very own faux fur vest.  My look is more evening ready and Emily's is more day appropriate. Since these vests can be boxy, keeping the bottom slim with skinny jeans tucked in chic boots was sartorially correct.
