My girls have been dying to do a tree tops adventure park for the longest time, so to say they were excited to visit Geoss Adventure Park near Ljubljana is an understatement.
Geoss Adventure Park is located about a 30 minute drive from Ljubljana in Slovenia. The park is in the small town of Slivna and we had trouble trying to find it as it is not very well signposted; however, with the help of locals and a lot of hand gestures we found it.
It was a super hot day when we visited so we were happy to see that all of the park areas were under the large shady trees.
After a brief introduction, we were off with our family to explore this unique attraction in Slovenia.
What About Safety for the Family?
On arrival the lovely Clara greeted us and went through all the safety procedures with us. The adventure park has courses for all ages starting from 4 years, which was perfect for our family of varying ages.
We were very impressed with the equipment used and the standard of safety followed by the park. This put us at ease straight away and we were happy for the girls to go ahead on the harder courses later in the day after our safety induction.
Adventure Courses
There are about 6 different courses and each is colour coded. There is, however, only one course suitable for our 4 year old. At first he needed help to clip himself on and off the different ropes but after a few tries he was fine to do it himself.
He did the course a couple of times until he got bored with it and Clara suggested he try the longer flying fox at the end of the park. He spent about one-hour riding it.
The rest of the family did one of the easier courses together before the girls went ahead and completed the rest of the courses.
Our 10-year-old son is scared of heights and when we arrived told us he wasn't going to go on any of the flying foxes. As he went through the first course and got to the flying fox it took a lot of courage (and time) for him to ride it to the next obstacle. However after he rode it he was hooked. He spent the rest of the afternoon (4 hours) going back over this one obstacle course and riding the couple of flying foxes on it.
We were very proud of him for stepping out of his comfort zone and persevering. By the end of the day he had rope burn on this hands because he was having so much fun. He didn't feel it till it was time to go home.
The girls did almost all of the courses at the park and did not flinch once. Some of the obstacles were up to 30 metres high and very difficult to navigate. The hardest courses included tightropes, swinging tyres, a skateboard across two trees and dropping from a suspended platform into a net.
I was not as brave as them and opted to hang out with our little guy for the afternoon and help him.
We had such fun at Geoss Adventure Park in Ljublijana and the girls would go as far as saying "It was the best day ever!"
We'd like to thank the Ljubljana Tourist Board for inviting us out on this epic day. As always, all opinions are our own.
