Hey beauties!

Travelling season is here! YAY!!! So I have decided to do a mini travel series here on my blog… this is part 1 of series – aka. beauty edition!!!

Though traveling is exciting, it can also be a bit frustrating when traveling by air and going through airport security. With air traveling, comes many restrictions – especially for those beauty lovers like ourselves who love to travel long distances and experience the vast array of cultures that lies ahead.

Airports only allow passengers to carry 100ml of liquid products with them when traveling by air. This can be a little frustrating, especially when you’re flight is about 8-16+ hours long.

I have combination skin, meaning some parts of my face tends to get really oily while other parts are extremely dry. So when I don’t cleanse my face for an extended period of time, my face tends to feel gross. On top of that, I also have acne prone skin, so not washing for a long time gives me more breakouts! Yuck! For me, packing face care products are essential traveling long distances!

So here are a few tips on how you can pack some of your favorite beauty/face care products without having it thrown away at security:

  • Stock up on little, empty sample containers that you can get for free at beauty stores like the Body Shop, Nordstrom, and Sephora …These are lifesavers and are absolutely inexpensive, should you buy a bunch online/in-stores! You are only allowed 100ml of liquid in your carry on luggage. Each of these sample

containers hold approx. 1.5ml-5ml worth of liquid product!
  • Make sure to carry essential face care products first! …You can easily load these products in each of the 5ml sample containers that you can find at the Body Shop. These will be an ample amount of products that will last your entire 8+ hours of flight. Here are some products I think think are essential:
    • Face cleanser
    • Exfoliator
    • Toner
    • Moisturizer
    • Lip balm
  • Makeup products I like to pack …just to look a little more presentable when my flight has landed…
    • Foundation/tinted moisturizer in 5ml container
    • Face powder
    • Lip gloss
    • Small, nude eyeshadow palette
    • Travel size mascara
    • Baby powder
      • …Our hair will most likely feel gross after a really long flight, so a mini bottle of baby powder is an excellent alternative to aerosol cans of dry shampoo, which airport securities tend to sometime throw out. Just like dry shampoo, baby powder works by absorbing all the grease from your hair and also making it smell good!
  • Other miscellaneous products I also like to carry:
    • Mini bottle of hand sanitizer
    • Toothbrush
    • Travel sized toothpaste (in case your flight does not give out toothbrushes/toothpastes)
    • Mini packs of antibacterial hand/face wipes
    • Detangling hair brush/comb
    • Hair ties
    • Pads/tampons

I hope you all enjoyed part 1 of the travel series! :)
