It's probably the most used room in your house, from entertaining friends and family to snuggling up on the sofa watching Saturday night telly or a movie! If you have kids it can often become more of a playroom or toy fest..which is fine, but when they're in bed and you can finally have some adult time, you want to have a pizza and invite some friends over, but without them stepping into toys r us! Here are my top tips and ideas on how to turn it into he entertaining space you've dreamt of...whilst not breaking the bank!

Seating
Finding the right sofa can seem like a lifelong decision, which colour, design, style, how many seats, small corner sofa, large corner sofa, sofabed, cushions, rounded armrests or square...but putting your own twist and personal touches to your own customised sofa can really improve the feel of your home, if you invest into a quality sofa you can be confident knowing it will last and last! Something squashy, comfy & snug can actually make your guests stay even better!
Maybe you fancy treating yourself at Christmas (I apologize for mentioning it..it'll be here sooner than we think! Ha), or even enter sofa123's competition to win an L shaped corner sofa, you've gotta be in it to win it! (cliche but very true :) )
Storage boxes
Something that can disguise as a piece of the furniture and fits in with the asthetics of the room, instead of using a toy box! Not only will it make the room tidier and more organized but it will create more space too!
Accessories
I'm a sucker for anything shabby chic, wicker hearts, bird cages, pretty crafts etc. They really make your house a home and make it feel super cosy, you don't need to buy anything too pricey, pop into your local charity shop and see if you can find a little gem or two!
Have a spring clean
I know it's not the most enticing thing to do but believe me you'll feel good about it when it's done, plus, it's free! Ha. Start with one room a day, clear out all the rubbish, the things you don't use, put them into storage, get the polish/bleach out and scrub away! Personally when my house smells like it's had a good spring clean, I feel happier!
Wall art
Ok so you don't have to erase every little part of the fact you have children, ha. Why not get some canvas' made up of the family and hang them up on your walls? Or some other kind of art, perhaps a photo montage, floral sculpture or a giant clock, something that draws people in! Create your own too, if you're feeling crafty! :)
