This week's Top Ten Tuesday on The Broke and the Bookish is: Top Ten Favourite Classics. I'm a little late to the party on this one because on top of working all weekend, my Dad returned on Monday night from a huge road trip (across the country and back) that took him two months! Since my Dad's pretty much my best friend and I missed him, I spent all day hanging out with him. But I'm back, and it's time to talk about classics!
I've decided to split this into two parts because there are so many classics I want to read, but haven't yet. So first off I'll give you my top 5 classics, then I'll list the top 5 I want to read.
Favourite Classics

There are so many more. Agnes Grey, Jane Eyre, all the Jane Austen books, A Christmas Carol, I Capture the Castle, the Frances Hodgson Burnett books and Anne Frank's Diary of a Young Girl. I could go on and on, but I'll stop!
Classics I Want to Read
1. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (and Through the Looking Glass) by Lewis Carroll2. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas3. Dracula by Bram Stoker
4. 1984 by George Orwell5. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
There are so many more. I want to read all the books ever, and I want to get every reference to a classic. But there is only so much time, and I tend to favour newer books that are about the world I know (or can more easily imagine) - and, let's face it, that take a bit less work to get through. I do hope that I'll at least get through these five at some point, though!
