This week's Top Ten Tuesday on The Broke and the Bookish is: Top Ten Characters I'd Like to Check In With. There are so many, and many more I don't even remember because I read the books so long ago. There are a couple of embarrassing or just kind of strange choices in here, but these are the ones that popped into my head first, so I decided to roll with it.

Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
I want more about everyone in the Harry Potter world. Anyone. (Except maybe Umbridge.) But if I had to pick just one character of the many, many I came to know and love, it would be Hermione. She is the character I connected with the most, and the character that I most often think about.
Deuce and Fade from the Razorland trilogy by Ann Aguirre
We got a bit of info, but I'd like more detail. I'd like to know the details of how they shape their world and learn to adapt to their new surroundings.
Amy and Nick from Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Yes, they're horrible. Yes, I want to punch them in the face, but not because they're cute. But I'm also kind of curious, in a very twisted way, to know what happened!
Park from Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
I loved the character of Park. I loved how sensitive he was, and how he was determined to be who he was and love who he loved, no matter the consequences. I wasn't ready for his story to end where it did, and I wanted to know more about how his life turned out. (I didn't care so much about Eleanor though, if I'm honest.)
Pat & Tiffany from The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
These have to be two of my favorite fictional characters. I loved how they learned to embrace their own imperfections by learning to love the imperfections in one another. I rarely "ship" - but in this case, I make a heartfelt exception.
Scout from To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
So you all probably know by now that I'm getting my wish on this one! I still wanted to include it, though, because I've wanted more Scout pretty much my whole life. Go Set A Watchman can't come soon enough for me!
Matilda and Miss Honey from Matilda by Roald Dahl
I know that Matilda's newfound life let her be more "normal," but even a more normal version of Matilda is pretty extraordinary. I would love to know what she did with her immense brain - did she grow up to be a doctor? An academic? Did she write books to add to the library she loved so much?
Trixie Belden from the Trixie Belden Series by Kathryn Kenny and Julia Campbell
Our spunky protagonist and her band of amateur detectives were some of my favourites to spend time with growing up, and I'd love to know: did Trixie grow up to break the mold and become one of the first full-fledged female detectives? Did she travel to foreign lands finding adventure at every turn? Or did she mellow and settle down? (I kind of hope not...)
Bella, Edward and the wolves from the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer
I know this is the series we all love to hate, I know it has myriad issues (in terms of feminism, writing and otherwise), but still. I feel like the Volturi aren't exactly going to just sit back and allow for happily ever after, and I am kind of curious to know what happened in the future. Adventure doesn't seem to leave these characters alone!
Nobody Owens from The Graveyard Book and Coraline from Coraline by Neil Gaiman
These are two of my favorite middle-grade characters. They're both kids who have untraditional upbringings, and they're both kids I wish I could have been friends with them growing up! I would love to know how how they grew up - particularly Nobody (aka Bod), because you've got to imagine that being raised by ghosts will make a pretty interesting fella.
Augustus Waters from before his role in The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
It's possible - okay, probable - that I liked Augustus even better than Hazel Grace. But TFIOS is very much Hazel's story. So I want more Augustus, and please, oh please, won't you write us a prequel, John Green?
