This week's Top Ten Tuesday on The Broke and the Bookish is "Top Ten Books That Will Make You Swoon." I'm not much of a swooner when it comes to books. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
Two words: Augustus Waters. 'Nuff said.
2. City of Bones books by Cassandra Clare
So this one is going to surprise you a bit, I'm guessing. Because I'm not talking about Clary and Jace - they're just annoying most of the time. I'm talking about Simon. The loyal, slightly geeky, but funny and really kind best friend. Helps that he's played by one of my fave Irish crushes, Robert Sheehan. Yeah, he's a bit of alright.
3. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
Park. Yeah, it takes a little while to warm up to him. But he's just such a great character, and while the end isn't a swoony (I won't spoil it), the journey was a great one.
4. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Cather and Levi. Those two are just so good together.
5. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Not always that believable, but swoony nonetheless.
6. Outpost by Ann Aguirre
I'm nearly finished this book and there have definitely been some seriously swoony moments.
I can't really think of any others. I don't really do swooning a lot. There are a few that didn't quite do it for me, but that probably do it for most readers:
1. This Is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith
It was a bit predictable and therefore "meh" for me, but I know some other bloggers who absolutely loved it, and it is definitely a swoony type of story.
2. Divergent by Veronica Roth
Personally I didn't like Tris, but her relationship with Four has probably led to a soon or 5,000.
3. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Mr. Darcy is one of the original causers of the swoon.
4. Bridget Jones' Diary by Helen Fielding
Yet another Mr. Darcy. Think it's the name????
5. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I feel like this'll be on a lot of lists, and I kinda get the whole Peeta thing. Well, a little bit, anyway.
