Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR ListThis week's Top Ten Tuesday on The Broke and the Bookish is a seasonal one - the 10 books on my winter TBR list! I'm not entirely sure what this means. Does it mean books that are cosy for warding off a winter chill? Books about winter? Christmas books? I'm not really sure, but I've decided to just make it my top TBR list - the books I'd love to stack up beside me and hide under a blanket reading until they're all done!
In no particular order:
1. Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy by Helen Fielding
Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR List
This is sort of a Christmas book in my mind, because every year I watch the Bridget Jones movie around Christmas time. I  mean, it does start with her singing in Christmas pyjamas, after all.
2. The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR List
I'm intrigued by this book, but I do think it'll be quite the undertaking to get through it. Might be a 2014 read!
3. Allegiant by Veronica Roth

I had my suspicions, but a major spoiler has been confirmed to me. Which has vastly reduced my motivation to finish this series. But I still plan go, because it seems like the thing to do.
4. The Diviners by Libba Bray
Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR ListI wasn't super impressed by Going Bovine, but I did like the writing style and tone, so I'm going to give her another shot. Come on, Libba, live up to that bitingly sarcastic potential.
5. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR List
I started reading this and I'm already intrigued. But I feel like this is a book that requires a long swath of uninterrupted reading time, so that I can really wallow in it. I'm saving it for vacation.
6. The Silence of Bonaventure Arrow by Rita Leganski
Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR List Another one I've read a few pages of, and I'm really looking forward to sinking into it.
7. Reality Boy by A.S. King
Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR List
I've never read anything by King, but I have heard really good things in the blog/twitter book world, and I've had Ask the Passengers on my list for EVER.
8. Shadowlands by Kate Brian
Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR ListI'll admit, it was totally the cover that drew me into this book. But apparently it lives up to it.
9. S. by Doug Dorst and J. J. Abrams

I love the concept behind this book, but it does mean that you kind of have to read the "real" book to get the effect. So I'm saving this one for my time off when I'll be able to curl up at home and read, since I don't think I can carry it around with me!
10. The Book Thief by Marcus Zusack
Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR ListI feel like I really need to read this book. Everyone loves it and the movie is out. I'm apprehensive about the tear-jerk factor, but I've been told it's worth it.
11. Bonus: The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton
Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR List
Let's face it, it's probably going to take me 5 years to finish this book. But I'm curious about it, and I want to give it a try. So it makes the list.
That's it! What books are you excited to curl up and read with a steaming cup of hot chocolate? Share in the comments!
