A Year In Provence is more than two decades old now, but it's one of my favorite expat memoirs, and I feel like it's time for a re-read. It's about a couple who gave up their jobs and lives in London to move to a small town in the south of France. Think Under the Tuscan Sun, but written from a male point of view and, you know, France instead of Italy. I think I actually like this a bit more, but it's a tough call because I love them both. I'm reading a volume of Nick Hornby's monthly "Stuff I've Been Reading" columns for Believer magazine right now, and I'm loving it. Ten Years in the Tub is the complete collection of all the articles he wrote over a ten-year period, and I'm torn between wanting to spread them out and save them and wanting to just drop everything and splash around in them until there aren't any left. Brilliant, but fair warning, his discussion of books he's been reading will add to your TBR exponentially!
