This week's Top Ten Tuesday on The Broke and the Bookish is: Top Ten Books I Want to Re-Read. Oooooh boy. You guys might want to settle in with some coffee, light snacks, maybe even canned goods... cos this might take a while.
1. The ENTIRE Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
Over and over and over again, for ever and ever.
2. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
Because it actually gets funnier every time.
3. I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
I grew up before Harry Potter, but this book was one I did get to read growing up, and it was quirky and fun and agonizing and beautiful and I never get bored of it.
4. Q's Legacy by Helene Hanff
I haven't re-read this yet, but I know I will. It's the perfect book for book-lovers. And I love her dry, sarcastic sense of humour, her reverence for the printed word and even the time-period she inhabited.
5. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
Well, of course. I mean, really. You laugh. You cry. You curse the unfair nature of the universe.
6. Matilda by Roald Dahl
Another childhood favourite, Matilda was my first major literary role model. She let me indulge my love for the little guy coming on top and desire to see the unloved find somewhere to belong.
7. The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
Heartwarming, whimsical and endearing. I loved the literary references and man, it made me want to revisit my long-held dream of owning a small community bookstore.
8. The Opposite of Loneliness by Marina Keegan
Because this is her only book and it is so brilliant that I will have to keep re-reading it.
9. The Provence books by Peter Mayle
Because I really wish I could move to the French countryside and write about it.
10. The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver
I have not yet re-read this book, but I keep thinking about it. I know I loved this book, but I barely remember what it was about - other than there's a little girl called Turtle in it, which is reason enough to love it.
I'm really having a horseshit week (pardon my French, but it really had to be said) so that's all the energy I currently have to put into blogging. So how about you guys take over for me from here and tell me your favorite books to re-read in the comments while I get busy on this bag of Sweet & Salty popcorn. Okay? Okay.
