Top 3 Holiday Ideas For Couples!

Before having Abbie, Ben & I would make time to have a date night every month and would treat ourselves to a lovely meal and maybe a trip to the cinema, we carried on whilst Abbie was tiny but as time has gone on, it has lessened to well, none..I don't remember the last time we actually went out together, but we don't really mind, we know we can make up the lost time when Abbie is a bit older and more independent! So we got thinking about what kind of holiday we would like to go on together next...we want something a little different but try not to spend too much either..here are the three ideas we came up with together..

Local HolidayThis is probably my favorite type of holiday, I think we are all guilty of taking our own country for granted, but there are so many lovely little places scattered around which you probably won't even know about unless you carry out some research! I love the whole idea of a romantic getaway to a little seaside village in your own adorable chocolate box cottage! What's better, is that they are usually very reasonably priced too, even off-peak! This year I really want to visit Ireland, preferably Wicklow or somewhere similarly quiet and picturesque! I think it's a great place for Photography and the locals are so lovely and make you feel so welcome too! Plus the accent is super nice too ;)
Cruises
I was never really into cruises that much, but I've had some family members rave about them so I decided to see what all the fuss was about and carry out some research! Turns out, they're pretty darn amazing! I had this vision of being on a huge boat, Titanic style, with a small, cramped room, a load of kids running around the whole time whilst I was stuck in the toilet with motion sickness...But I was pleasantly surprised! Although the price may come as a shock, you should remember that it includes your accommodation, meals in main dining venues, activities (including children's programs) and nighttime entertainment -- not to mention transportation from port to port, overall it is actually a lot cheaper than a regular holiday, bonus!! The best bet for us is probably a
Fred Olsen cruise from Southampton as it's only an hour and a bit away from us and their destinations vary from Europe to Australia, so plenty of places to choose from! Definiately worth a look into, especially for a nice break away from the little ones!

Romantic City Break

If you fancy venturing a little further out but for a shorter amount of time, I recommend a city break! From London to Paris, Rome to New York! Whatever your budget, there is something out there you will find! I actually went to Rome a few years ago with my college which was beautiful! We didn't stay anywhere too fancy as we knew we were only going to be sleeping there, the rest of the time we were out and about sight-seeing and exploring the city itself, the Trevi Fountain, the Sistine Chapel & The Colosseum! So many things to see and it's even the 5th most romantic city in the world! Don't forget to visit the best ice cream shop next to the Trevi Fountain too! So yummy! :)
