All right, Instagram buffs, time to come clean: how many separate apps do you have on your smartphone just for enhancing the colors of your photos? Three, five, 15? Who knows (it’s nobody’s business but yours). One thing is for sure, though—no matter how many improvements and updates Instagram comes up with, its featured filters just never seem to be quite enough. So, if you really want your Instagramming experience to be special, improved and even artsy, here’s which 3 additional apps you cannot miss out on!
Pocketful of Bokeh
First stop—the Bokehful app for iOS. If you catch yourself browsing Flickr and Pinterest in search of aesthetically pleasing snaps of the light till your eyes start leaking (‘Sometimes, there’s so much beauty in the world… I feel like I can’t take it‘), then you’re definitely familiar with bokeh. It’s usually defined as “the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image rendered by a particular lens” but you might know it as those pretty colorful circles and/or hearts floating across photos. Well, what Bokehful essentially does is imitate the bokeh effect, giving your Instagram photos that extra flare they’ve been lacking.
Slow That Shutter Speed Down
Moving on to Slow Shutter Cam, which lets you create a wide range of incredible slow shutter speed effects that you probably believed were only reserved for professional DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) cameras. Well, guess what? You were wrong. Thanks to this app, all you need is your smartphone and you can play around with motion blur (ghost images? yes, please!), light trail (painting with light, basically) and low light conditions. Both Android and iOS users are equally welcome.
3, 2, 1… Zoom!
And the final app on our list is not a beautifying one, but a pretty handy application that you’ve probably wished you had at least a hundred times. You know how you can’t zoom in on Instagram photos? With Zoom for Instagram, your troubles are now a thing of past and all Instagram photos are now zoomable!
