As the Davis Cup final is upon us, I took the time to remember some famous Davis Cup moments, mostly from finals past. Enjoy!

Sampras defeats Andrei Chesnokov, but is carried off with cramps after sealing match point in the 5th set
2. A Day not to Forget in 1991
France’s first win in 59 years is sealed by Guy Forget over Sampras
3. An Epic Day in 1996
Arnaud Boetsch saves 3 match points in 4 hrs 47 mins to beat Niklas Kulti of Sweden
4. From out of nowhere in 2001
Nicolas Escude clinches the 5th rubber against Wayne Arthurs for a 3-2 victory over France in the 5th set
5. A Clay Miracle in 1995
Sampras wins all possible 3 points, on clay (!) after cramping in his first match (see above)
6. A US Dream Team in 1992
Jim Courier wins the deciding match against Jakob Hlasek for the US’s 30th Davis Cup title
7. French Heartbreak in 2002
Mikhail Youzhny comes from 2 sets down as a substitute, to beat Paul Henri Mathieu and clinch the Davis Cup for Russia
8. Back from the Brink in 1996
Andrei Chesnokov defeats Michael Stich 14-12 in the 5th set after Stich held 9 match points. Russia would win the Cup 3-2
9. Daniel vs Goliath in 1992
Daniel Nestor of Canada ranked 258, defeats Stefan Edberg ranked 1 in 5 sets
10. Serbian Glory in 2010
Serbia win the Davis Cup for the 1st time in their nation’s history
