Too Late for Goodbyes by Julian Lennon.

For several years, I’ve had an interest in genetics. It’s so amazing how some children look nearly identical to a parent. In the case of The Beatles, I consider John Lennon’s son, Julian, and George Harrison’s son, Dhani, to be two of the most fascinating men alive (no offense to the other sons of The Beatles!). They’re also blessings because we no longer have Mr. Lennon or Mr. Harrison anymore. If you don’t believe me, just watch Julian’s music video above and see a photo of Dhani HERE. Could they be anymore John & George?

Too Late for Goodbyes was released as a single in January of 1985 from Julian’s debut album, Valotte. The song went to #5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and spent two weeks at #1 on Adult Contemporary. It also went to #6 in the UK.

Based on my interpretation, the lyrics describe a relationship that has ended. The relationship had many ups and downs because it wasn’t the first time someone had walked out. This time it’s final though and at this point, “goodbye” has been worn out.
