Ready to be done with winter?! Nothing says summer like fresh-from-the-garden tomatoes. Our son has been starting his own tomato plants for years. Last year he started also offering some for sale at the urging of friends and family.

Davin raised over 600 happy healthy tomato plants last year that yielded thousands of tomatoes in happy homes. His 2013 Tomatobook plants are now growing under grow lamps getting ready for this season. The snow has to melt sometime!!

Davin is also part of the GEM tomato project, a homegrown effort by a dad and his daughters to grow and sell tomatoes to benefit a local charity. Last year they raised over $300 for the Washburn Library in South Minneapolis! Davin is donating 50 plants to their project this year and is anxious to find out what charity they will be supporting this time.

This year all his seed came from Victory Seeds in Oregon, a family owned company that prides itself on finding and preserving heirloom and rare seeds. He has 12 varieties of tomatoes and 3 varieties of hot peppers.

Most plants cost $2 each. Learn more about the varieties and reserve your plants at www.tomatobook.weebly.com for delivery in late May... today is opening day!
