USA Today has announced that Superman/Wonder Woman will have a new creative team. Peter Tomasi and Doug Mahnke wil be taking over starting with issue #13. The series has become one of my favorite Superman titles thanks to writer Charles Soule so I am sad to see him leave, but Tomasi looks to keep the romance alive:
“I want to stare hard into the heart of both of these characters and their true love and see what that love means to us, the DC Universe and the people of Earth,” Tomasi says. “Does it pose a danger or a threat? If two people like that are together and in love, where is the drama in that, and what repercussions does it have?”
Tomasi is also writing Batman and Robin and in this story they have revealed the cover to issue #36 of the current Robin Rises story. What is interesting here is that it shows Red Robin, Red Hood and Batgirl all dressed in Robin outfits. For once, I love every single one of these designs. If Damian isn’t brought back, I’m hoping for a return of Tim Drake as Robin. Tomasi says that each of these characters are possible candidates, but we know Batgirl will be getting a new creative team with a highly publicized makeover so we can remove her from speculation.
