Today I'm Wearing: Mothers' Clothes

Happy Tuesday Lovelies.
Today's look features my favorite color on a favorite piece from my favorite woman.
Today is my mother's birthday and I thought it befitting to wear a piece from her wardrobe since she has always partly inspired my style. To be quite honest, I usually don't need an excuse to take things from her wardrobe as I've been er "borrowing" clothes and accessories from her for years. Strangely though, we are nowhere near the same size (I'm smaller) but part of my style mantra is never limiting yourself and I always force find a way to make things work, I'm even wearing this top back to front. The green polka dot top called my name from my mothers closet and knowing my keen eye, my mother just smiled at me and waited to see how I'd style it. The look turned out perfect for a sunset dinner.
I used to think my mother was a clothes hoarder but I now bashfully share her passion for "preserving fashion" as it serves the vintage vixen in me well. I'm so proud of my mama and her achievements, she inspires me beyond measure and I'm so thankful for her influence. This woman knew fashion before it was 'in fashion', so I just have to apologize for laughing at her culottes those decades ago, as I really didn't think they'd come back in style.
