Tipperary Watershed Single Malt Irish Whiskey Review

By Josh Peters @TheWhiskeyJug

Tipperary Watershed Single Malt Irish Whiskey

Tipperary Watershed Single Malt Irish Whiskey is the NAS release of a new offering put out by GRC Imports. The distillery is unknown but they don’t claim to have made it so we’re all good. They also bottled it at 47% ABV and non-chill filtered so I’m doubly ok with what they’re doing. To make it triply good they’re bottling a single malt instead of a blend. The last thing we need in the market is yet another 40% chill-filtered Irish blend on the shelf.

Aged in ex-bourbon casks and sourced from an un-disclosed distillery without an age-statement; there’s not much else to say about it so, on to the Tipperary Watershed Single Malt Irish Whiskey review.

In GRC’s Words: Tipperary Watershed Single Malt Irish Whiskey

“Only six first-fill bourbon casks are chosen for each batch of Watershed, carefully selected for quality by our Malt Master, Stuart Nickerson. After being cut to 47% with our Ballindoney water, we number every bottle individually, so each one is special.”

Tipperary Watershed Single Malt Irish Whiskey Review – OVERALL

Tipperary Watershed Single Malt Irish Whiskey is a simple solid single malt. Average across the board, but delightful with fruity touches and some spice playing with the malt. The aroma is a bit more complex and interesting than the palate, but not by much. Though it does feel like this is one that could benefit from another trip or two around the sun. Still, in a world full of less-than-average Irish blends, it’s great to have this as an option.

SCORE: 85/100 (B)
