The Maybelline FITme Stick Foundation is their first gel stick foundation that claims to be "shine-free", with the anti-shine core. I'm just going to mention straightaway that I have been using it consistently upon acquiring this, and I would gladly buy another one when I run out.
The pluses: The texture and formulation of this is a dream to work with. It's lightweight, smooth, and blends right in. Once you apply and blend this in, it turns into a powder finish, without it feeling dry. Application is super easy and quick: either apply it with your fingers or right onto your face. I remember worrying that the foundation would “set” if I drew it onto my face all at once (I like to take my time), but with use, this is not much of an issue. I have combo skin and whichever way I choose to apply this foundation, I don’t have any issues with dry areas showing through, as the formulation is so creamy. The foundation is also designed to be used on-the-go, and touched up throughout the day. I have reapplied this a few times and it goes on just as well as the first time around. I would consider this to be around a light/medium coverage, buildable, and has no scent.
The minuses: The packaging is just in a generic stick form which twists up and a cap that clicks on. The base of the foundation that attaches to the twist up area and the lid could both be a little more sturdy, but it's not something that bothers me too much. However if this is made to be used as a touch up throughout the day, I feel as though the lid would easily detach if you’re not careful. This is supposed to “instantly dissolve excess oil” and I really don’t see this happening. With this on, I get greasy around the 4 hour mark if I don’t set this with a mattifying powder, however when I do set it, I can last around 6-8 hours with this on and end up looking “dewy” at the end of the day. Moral of the story, if you don’t set this, expect it slide around and disappear throughout the day. The overalls: This retails for $15.95, making it one of the more affordable foundations on the market, with around 12 shades on offer. I really like this foundation and recently have found myself reaching for this daily, and for uni, I only look for the “my skin but better” kinda look. You can tell in the before & after pic that I had slight redness on my nose/cheek/chin, and this covered them up, however it doesn’t cover up the more “intense” blemish spots. The rating: 4/5
