Time for a New Hair Weave?

Posted on the 25 May 2020 by Beautyforevehair02
How often do you usually get a new hair weave? New hair often leaves us feeling so beautiful and confident that there isn’t a single thing that can bring us down. However, nothing lasts forever, including hair weaves, and around the two- to three-month mark, it’s usually time to consider a new install. Here at Beautyforever, we know that you like to make your weave last as long as possible, but did you know that letting things go for too long can cause problems like your hair matting, tangling, and even falling out? Yikes. So how do you know when it is time to come in for a new install?

4 Signs It's Time to Renew Your Weave

Exposed Tracks

When you get a weave hair, there is always a portion of your own hair that is left out for blending purposes. This hair is meant to cover the tracks of your weave for seamlessly beautiful hair. Sounds good, right? There is only one small problem: your hair grows! There may come a point in time when the hair on your tracks grows faster than the blending hair, exposing your weave no matter which way you style your hair. This is never a good thing, and if your weave gets to this point, it is time for a re-do.

Attachment Issues

It is only natural for your weave to loosen as the weeks and months go on - after all, you are human and your hair doesn’t stop growing just because you have a stunning sew-in. The skilled stylists at Beautyforever can retighten your weave every so often to prolong its life and enhance comfort, but this can only be done so many times before the integrity of the weave is compromised. If your weave feels like it is holding on for dear life, or if you feel like you have to wear a scarf every day just to keep it in place, then it is probably time to make a visit to the salon for a new install.

Wig-Like Appearance

When you first began experimenting with your hair, you likely discovered that there is a big difference between a quality sew-in and a hair wig. In fact, many ladies prefer high-quality weaves over wigs because of their incredibly natural appearance. However, if you stretch out the time too long between installs, your gorgeous weave may begin to take on a wig-like appearance. The whole install may move when you scratch your head, or it may shift if you move your head too quickly. If this has started to happen, do yourself a favor - get a new install to avoid looking like you are wearing a wig.

Lost Luster

When you love your weave, you do everything you can to take good care of it so that it lasts as long as possible. That being said, you want to be sure that you keep your eyes peeled for signs that it may be starting to reach the end of its run. It is only a matter of time before your hair weave begins to lose its sheen, bounce, and volume. This slow transition might be hard to notice at first, but when it is paired with shedding and losing its wave or curl pattern, it is time for a new install.
Your weave can't accomplish this if it has come to the end of its useful life, and you can only retighten your weave so much. We offer 100-percent virgin human hair weaves in a variety of styles, allowing you to find your perfect match.
