Controversial golf pro Tiger Woods may have kissed his Gatorade endorsement deal (along with other companies that lost him $22million in 2010), he’s picked up a new endorsement deal.
Woods will now represent Rolex, becoming the face of the brand in January 2012.
Rolex issued a statement on Wednesday stating that the are “convinced that Tiger Woods still has a long career ahead of him and that he has all the qualities required to continue to mark the history of golf. The brand is committed to accompanying him in his new challenges.”
So is Rolex at all concerned with the implications of their new spokesperson’s former transgressions? Not so much.
According to National Jeweler, “The brand said the association pays tribute to Woods’ “exceptional stature” and the role he plays in generating interest in golf worldwide.”
