For a blogger/influencer/entrepreneur reaching out to the target audience is much more vital than developing the product. Your audience size and their interest in your product determines your ultimate success. The biggest problem that most entrepreneurs have isn't creating an amazing product or service; it's getting their future customers to discover that they even exist. Every year, tens of thousands of businesses start and fail because the entrepreneurs don't understand this one essential skill: the art and science of getting consumers to find you. What's the point if no one is reading a blogger's awesomely created content, what would the ROI be if a business is failing to lure its customers to buy their product- NADA?

While this may sound like a mammoth task, it is totally achievable. In his new book Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers, entrepreneur Russell Brunson reveals the classic and foundational direct marketing techniques that will allow you to be at the front of new trends and see opportunities that are invisible to everyone else. Russell can share how to master evergreen traffic strategies in order to fill your website and funnels with your dream customers.

A little about the book and the 30-day challenge

I took the Russell Brunson 30-Day #TrafficSecrets challenge- it encompassed daily reading assignments, conducting surveys, writing goals, creating offers for my readers and getting input/feedback on offers from them. In true transparency, I am not done reading the book in its entirety but the 80% I'v read has been an eye-opener. I learnt that the marketing strategy that I had been using was not at par and not as effective in reaching the right audience. I am not going to say that after this thirty day challenge I have a fail-proof strategy all ready but the knowledge from it is sure going to propel my boat in the right direction. I have the tools I need and I am feeling so confident.

Three Proven Ways To Increase Your Blog Traffic Today

The three key take-home tactics

The book teaches you so much but the three key learning tactics that I took home with me were:

TACTIC #: IDENTIFY YOUR DREAM CUSTOMER AND BECOME OBSESSED WITH THEM.

You might have an awesome product, blog content in my case, but its just another product/blog post until it speaks to and adds value to your audience. No matter how awesome your product is, it has no value unless it generates you the revenue you had in mind when creating the product. You might have a skill but you need to know the right way to market your skill and the sure-shot way to do that would be by getting obsessed with your customer. Once you are obsessed with your customers, you would know exactly what and when they want.

My blog is my business and my readers are my customers and there should always be a working harmony between the business and customer. My readers mostly women in their early thirties come to my blog seeking product information and reviews, new trend talks, beauty how-tos, lifestyle hacks, and easy-to-make recipes. I am working on improvising my content to cater more to women in their thirties, who have kids and want the real information that helps them navigate everyday life dilemmas.

TACTIC #2: GO TO WHERE YOUR DREAM CUSTOMERS ARE CONGREGATING.

Once you become obsessed with with your target customer, you would know exactly where to find them. What website they visit, what forums and messages they participate in, what Facebook groups they engage in, which influencers they follow on Instagram, what podcasts they listen to, what email newsletters they subscribe to, all of this will bring you so much valuable information about your dream customers. Building your dream 100 list will become a lot easier and building a marketing strategy to reach out to your dream 100 even easier.

I have been trying to reach out to my target audience through collaboration with other bloggers, through partnering up with brands whose products align with my readers tastes, through story-telling and occasional giveaways and gifting. I am in the process of revamping my entire marketing strategy and email newsletter template and I feel so excited about doing it all.

TACTIC #3: STORY, OFFER AND HOOK

Hook, story and offer are the three core principles in building an effective marketing strategy. It is the key to a business's success. The is the thing that grabs someone's attention so that can you can tell them your story. For instance an email's subject line- it is a hook to grab your attention and lure you into reading the email. After the hook grabs attention, you now have a small window to connect with your audience through A story builds a connection with you as the Attractive Character and your brand, it also increases the value of the offer you are about to make. The hook gets your customer's attention, the story creates desire and the last step of every message, post, email, and video is the . If the final product, service, and value that you promise to deliver.

I have been working on my caption writing skills and hashtags that are more relevant to my content. It involves a lot of trial and error but I'm sure the process will become a lot easier and more streamlined with the tactics I've learned in the process of the 30-day challenge. It is time to implement what I've learnt.
