Thomas Rhett cranking out 7 acoustic songs to a crowd of just over 100 people in a bar downtown Toronto ummm sure why not…
I had the pleasure of attending a very intimate & interactive type event with Thomas Rhett last night in Toronto. The venue non other than The Rockin’ Horse Saloon on Adelaide. The Bar seems to draw the big talent names on a regular basis such as Sam Hunt, Dallas Smith & Dierks Bentley to name a few. If you have never been, I do suggest stopping in for a pint of liquid gold or what ever you fancy to wet your whistle with a friendly staff and great mechanical bull for those adventurous types its now ant “IT” spot in Toronto.
Thomas Rhett @ Rockin Horse Toronto
Doors opened at 6PM and the 100 or so lucky contest winners filed into the venue. Not really a bad seat in the house unless you got stuck behind a pillar and if that was the case get there earlier next time!
Thomas opened up his 7 song set with his first smash hit and my daughters personal favorite “Something To Do With My Hands”. Thomas isn’t your typical get up sing a few songs and jump off stage type. Nope this Nashville born & raised country star is happy to shake a hand and take song requests. He then cranked out the #1 song by Florida Georgia Line “Round Here” along with Lee Brice’s “Parking Lot Party” in which Thomas wrote both songs for the artists. He then slowed things down with a new song not yet recorded and then went right into my personal Favorite “Front Porch Junkie”. I am not sure if its his amazing fan interaction during this song that really has me enjoying it but its one of those songs that you just can’t get out of your head. There were a small contingency in the corner from Oshawa that had requested a track in which Thomas was happy to play he called it a “‘Deep Cut” off his album them he closed out the night with his Jason Aldean hit “1994″ which was Thomas Rhett’s first #1 hit that he wrote for another artist. After seeing Thomas’s performance last night I can tell you this. This kid is going to the moon and back with his first CMA Nomination this year for Best New Artist I really think we will be seeing a lot more of Mr. Rhett both as a song writer and performer.
Tonight I will be seeing Thomas Rhett, Justin Moore & Miranda Lambert at Molson Amphitheater in Toronto and it is sure to be a great time with. Just can’t wait for that “Parking Lot Party”
I want to give a big thanks to Big Machine Canada for having us to the event. Ron you are a true champion of Country Music in Canada! Thanks for sharing your artists with us!
