This Would Never Happen If Deep-Fried Breaded Bread Was A Product

By Nottheworstnews @NotTheWorstNews

The New York Times reports that the people of France are eating less bread today than their predecessors, which is leading to the bread industry adjusting its marketing.

From the article:

“The average Frenchman these days eats only half a baguette a day compared with almost a whole baguette in 1970 and more than three in 1900.”

3 Questions That Arise From This Story

1. If the average Frenchman is on an airplane made of baguettes in 2020, traveling from Bagotville, Quebec, Canada, to Paris, France, and if current rates continue, will his daily bread intake consist of one crouton, or will he eat the entire bread-constructed airplane?

2. You didn’t like our Bagotville/baguette joke? You try to make jokes about French bread!  (Just don’t do it at Moulin Rouge in France, because the performers would be angry at you for offending their bread and being funnier than them.)

3. Are the French baguette marketers unaware of popular American marketing techniques to help sell more food products? We’re guessing the secret as to why people are buying one third of the bread is that you haven’t secretly decreased the size of one baguette package each year, thinking nobody will notice! “Zut, alors!” our door-to-door French bread salesperson readers are thinking.
