I saw this really funny bookend at Target while I was buying an obscene amount of K-cups for Javier.
He just makes me laugh. I’m sure this will be a picture that lives on my iPhone forever. Instant pick-me-up.
And… If I actually had a bookshelf in my room, I’d have bought him.
These are pictures from the day I had ankle surgery, August 13th 2010. Which just so happened to be a Friday the 13th… talk about nerves.
Isn’t that a great look??
We’re not emergency room people in my family. We don’t go to doctors unless we’re convinced we’re dying so having ankle reconstructive surgery was a really big deal. I asked my doctor if he’d prescribe me Zanex for the day of my surgery. I realize now my eyes were really squinty.
Lesson: Zanex works!!!
Why all these random pictures???
Well my Mom had them on her old phone. Before she bought and transferred her sim card she wanted me to save some of the photos from it (it’s not a smart phone so all her pictures would be deleted once she changed).
My Mom grew up in a really small town called Flanagan, in Illinois. It’s population ~1500 people. Half of which live outside of town in corn/bean farms.
It’s really flat in Illinois.
Anyways, I spent a huge amount of summer vacation time in Flanagan growing up. I miss it. Small towns are so quiet and so much more simple.
These photos are from the last time we went there to visit… I think 3 years ago. Maybe 4.
This is the Legion Lake. I learned to fish on this lake with a little snoopy fishing pole. It was yellow and had a snoopy bobber. He would lay on top of the water like he lays on top of his red dog house in the comics. So funny.
Actually the first time I went fishing I caught a crawdad and I was so scared/shocked that I screamed and threw my pole into the lake. My Mom had to go and fish it out…
So girly.
This trip was really cool because I’d never been there in the fall. We’d always go for summer vacation and I’d been for a few Christmas breaks but never in November. It was really cool, I love fall.
Unfortunately a bad picture… this is the church my parent’s got married in. It’s a little Lutheran Church in Flanagan. I like it… it’s so pretty.
