Halloween is just a week away, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve gotta let my inner child out at least once a year, so I always wear a costume. I’ve been all sorts of characters, such as Pocahontas, a witch, Cleopatra, a witch, a zombie, a witch, a doctor, a witch, a prisoner, and did I mention a witch?

But this year, I thought it would be fun to dress tennis-y. I prefer the DIY costumes rather than the store bought kind. Not to knock stores like Party City, but a McEnroe or Agassi wig does not a costume make!

Anywhoo, I was on Pinterest recently, pinning (what I think are) the best tennis-themed costumes, and for the peeps who don’t follow us on Pinterest (but we hope you will), here they are! Aren’t they great?

I hope they inspire you to make your own tennis-themed Halloween costume – and if they do, we’d LOVE to see it! Please submit a photo to us, and we’ll use it in a collage which we’ll post on our site :-)

** FYI – For the half tennis balls on skin, use skin glue found at a costume store (Party City, etc.). Ebay is a great place to find a bargain on old wooden tennis rackets, too.

This is a unique couple costume idea - the golf trophy husband and the tennis trophy wife :-)
While this is simple (and uses the wig from Party City), I liked how this look was accessorized with an old wooden racket.
This costume could totally work for a tennis chick too - here's the front view (1 of 3)
And the side view (2 of 3)
And the back (3 of 3)
Tennis star John McEnroe dresses as himself for Halloween, lol! He's even got the wig from Party City!
These are role-reversed costumes - a woman as Rafa, and a man as Serena.
Awwwww... What a great couple costume idea. Recognize Steffi and Andre?

This is a friend of mine and her husband every time they play mixed doubles, lol!
This look is totally doable if you've got a flapper costume on hand. A wooden racket, white tights, and a pair of white Keds or nurses shoes and you're a vintage player!
