Thirty Blogs: Once Upon a Time... Three Years Ago

By Suvenchow
My dearest little Leann,
I'd like to share with you a story. And it starts like this. Once upon a time... three years ago.
Three years ago yesterday, I was lost. I was in pain. I was struggling to breathe normally. Well, to be very honest, I was also high on gas, Nitrogen Oxide gas to be exact. I was about to go through a rite of passage that some women are blessed with, the birth of a child.
Three years ago yesterday, I was young. I was naive. I was also unprepared for what tomorrow would bring. But I was lucky, for I had the most amazing man (your father) right next to me, who was willing brave through this unknown journey with me. We were about to go through a rite of passage that some humans are blessed with, becoming a parent.
Three years ago today, I was screaming. You were screaming. Your father was screaming too, because well, I may have squeezed his hands just a little too forcefully while trying to push you out. (I'm so sorry again hubby for causing you pain, I love you!) We were about to embark on a new journey in life, a journey that will forever change our lives.
Three years ago today, I gave birth to a miracle, you. But do you know what's more amazing? Nine months before that, you created your very own miracle first. You gave birth to us. For without you, we would have never had the privilege of being a mother and a father.
You, our darling little Leann, were the first key that unlocked so many of our wonderful life journeys. We hope that you will stay with us for a little while more before you start sharing your life with someone else. We promise you that you will get to spread your wings when the time comes, but for now, please don't grow up too quickly. Take your time turning our lives upside down, enjoy every opportunity to create a mess in our home, feel free to fill the floor with legos and blocks and crayons and playdohs. We promise we won't complain... too much. ;)

Happy birthday, precious little one. Stay happy and healthy always. Mommy and daddy loves you very very much. Ashleigh loves you very much too, she is so extremely lucky to have such a wonderful big sister. Even though she can't talk, we're sure baby Ashleigh would love to say I love you too, jie jie. <3
