Thirsty Thursday: Raspberry Vanilla Cocktails

By Raymondleejewelers @raymondleejwlrs

This week we’ve got our hearts set on some raspberry vanilla cocktails. For the first time in recent memory, we chose this happy hour’s imbibe-able cocktail before we selected the one we’d like to wear while drinking it! But the moment we saw this gorgeous drink on Pinterest, we knew what we’d be sipping on this Thursday. Rue magazine, one of our favorite e-mags (along with Matchbook, Utterly Engaged and a few other online only pubs) also runs a daily blog, and one post we can’t stop staring at is their “Girl’s Day In.” While big nights out on the town are fun, brunch always has its place, and coffee dates are great for catching up, there’s nothing that rekindles that slumber-party-esque air of camaraderie like an intimate get together in someone’s home. This sweet idea elevates the standard wine and cheese night with an earlier time slot and a feminine theme. Pastel colored desserts are labeled with creamsicle calligraphy and the day’s itinerary calls for more than just good conversation over great desserts: enter the soiree’s main activity, flower arranging 101. Seriously, how cute is that idea? Not only have we always wanted to know how to make our flowers from Whole Foods look 1/8th as good as professional arrangements, we think fresh flowers in a cute vessel make for one heck of a fabulous party favor. And with details like these, the signature cocktail needs to be as girly and festive as the day’s event, so a sparkling and sweet raspberry vanilla-tini (with gold glitter sugar!) is pitch perfect. Fresh raspberry puree (with a table spoon of sugar to sweeten up the tartness) combined with vanilla vodka sounds like something we’d like to sip, but a rose champagne topper makes it fizzy, bubbly, and allows the requisist popping of bottles that accompanies any excellent get together.

A drink this lovely needs a cocktailing partner in crime, and we’re taking the dinner ring to afternoon tea with this gorgeous ruby and enamel ring we can’t stop staring at.

18k Yellow Gold Ruby Cabochon Diamond Enamel Ring

How fun is the rich ruby enamel on this 18kt yellow gold beauty? It perfectly matches the center ruby cabochon, and we love the gold and diamond surround. The diamonds weigh .65 carats total and are met by swirling green vines of enamel on the ring’s shanks. It’s a rich, but playful piece with nods to nature that looks like it’s straight out of 19th century India. Its rich, high karat gold is the perfect foil to the deep red tones of the enamel and ruby, and will look excellent while sipping on this yummy cocktail. Cheers!
