Mother's Day is just around the corner and while this part of the world is gearing to celebrate this holiday, there is India on the other side grappling everyday to save lives. India is in the midst of a second wave and this wave is proving to be catastrophic to humanity.
The entire medical system has collapsed in India. There is lack of medication, oxygen, hospital beds, or medical help in general. People are feeling helpless, trapped and anxious. There is gloom everywhere. News of multiple deaths in one family leaving kids without any parent has become like the daily headline. It just breaks my heart to see my people go through such challenging times.
There are so many kids who have been orphaned by this pandemic, I don't feel humane sharing a Mother's Day gift guide here. If someone was to gift me something this holiday, I would rather request them to donate to charities that are working towards getting supplies and medical help to India.

One thing that the pandemic has taught us is to keep our closed ones even close. Life is precious and unpredictable too. So cherish what you have, celebrate little wins as and when you can. I know it ain't thanksgiving and while the gift guide was out of consideration for me, a gratitude post was called for.
So here is a list of people I am thankful for and things I'm celebrating this Mother's Day.
I) I am thankful for my child who is healthy, smart, and is growing. Without her I wouldn't have been a MOM, a nurse, a driver, a coach, a teacher and all the shoes that I fill in today.
II) I am celebrating my husband who is caring, loving and works hard to provide the best for us every single day. Without him I wouldn't have been a WIFE, a buddy and a lover. Extra love to him for taking capturing mother-daughter happy matchy-matchy moments.
III) I am thankful for my puppy Maze. He is our furry bundle of joy. Maze was the best thing that happened to us during the pandemic. He brings so much happiness to us every single day.
IV) I am thankful for my family, who I can look up to whenever I need them. They are far, but they are still close. I pray for their health and wellness every single day.
V) I am thankful for YOU, HER, HIM, the blogger tribe, the mom groups (big and small) that have never shied from coming through to help. You all mean the world to me.
