These Shoes Were Made For Chalkin'

Hey, everyone! This summer has been crazy busy, so I thought it'd be a great time to do a fast and furious project that still has excellent results. Also, it incorporates chalkboard paint, what has turned out to be one of my favorite trends of this year. So, I give you the chalkboard pump! These Shoes Were Made For Chalkin'

Besides a pair of pumps, all you really need for this project is a small can of chalkboard paint. You can pick this up at most hardware stores or art supply shops. You're gonna have LOTS of extra paint, so the smaller the can, the better. These Shoes Were Made For Chalkin'Step 1: Carefully cover all areas that aren't being painted with the painter's tape. Take time to make sure that all of the tape is secure, with no bubbles. (This project is totally easy, but nothing will mess it up quicker than seeing paint where it shouldn't be!)These Shoes Were Made For Chalkin'Step 3: Paint with the shoe with an even coat of chalkboard paint. These Shoes Were Made For Chalkin'Step 4: Let the first coat dry completely then paint again with a second coat. These Shoes Were Made For Chalkin'
When you're done with these steps, your project will look like this:These Shoes Were Made For Chalkin'Step 6: Once the paint is totally dry, remove all of the tape.

Step 7: Paint around the shoe's opening to cover that little area where the upper meets the lining. (Although this isn't an area of the shoe that people will ever really see, it gives the whole project a more finished look.)

Step 8: Decorate! If you find that the chalk isn't going down as easily as you'd, wipe down the surface with a damp cloth and that should do the trick.

Dang cute and good to have on hand when you're feeling fickle.
